EXPERTISE, EXPERIENCE AND INGENUITY
UNSURPASSED IN THE INDUSTRY
They say we learn from history. Well, we lived it. Since 1864, Donnelley Financial Solutions has grown from a small printing company to a Fortune 250 organization, with 65,000 employees, 60,000 customers, and $11.6 billion in 2014 revenue. We're armed with one major tool that other virtual data rooms lack: experience.
A BRIEF HISTORY
An ambitious, entrepreneurial, 28 year-old named Richard Robert Donnelley moves from Hamilton, Ontario to Chicago to join the publishing and printing business of Leroy Church and Edward Goodman. Church Goodman & Donnelley quickly becomes the leading book printing establishment in the western part of America.
Within days of completing construction of the largest and most modern printing facility in the Midwest, Richard Donnelley loses both his business and his home in the Great Chicago Fire. He boards a train to New York with a few dollars and a built-up reputation for integrity, and in two years time is able to re-establish the company on the same Chicago site.
Donnelley Financial Solutions becomes the first American printing company to consolidate all aspects of the printing process under one roof. That’s 1800s business, made simple.
Donnelley Financial Solutions’s first public offering. The then chairman described the commitment, “Growth is basic at Donnelley Financial Solutions, for we believe that a business that is not growing is already beginning to decay.
Donnelley Financial Solutions reaches the billion-dollar mark in annual sales, and opens offices across multiple continents to serve the financial documentation needs of multinational corporations.
Diversifying its revenue sources, Donnelley Financial Solutions acquires additional services from iPad shopping apps and social publishing platforms to EDGAR Online SEC filing and XBLR business reporting language.
